Dr. Harris, I’m worried about the exposure to radiation with X-rays!

We understand, and we want to clear up any concerns that you have about radiation.

First of all, we want you to know that x-rays are a diagnostic tool that are essential in helping us see problems in your mouth. They help us to see decay between teeth or under old fillings, bone loss, or anything abnormal with the bone structure.

The amount of radiation that you will be exposed to during a full mouth series of x-rays is estimated at 0.150 mSv, while the amount of radiation the average person is exposed to naturally is estimated to be around 3.000 mSv per year. (www.ada.org)
